# Fulfillment Minimums

> Understand regional fulfillment minimum requirements, what counts toward your minimum, and the 90-day grace period for new merchants.

<div className="page-intro">
  To use Jetpack's fulfillment services, merchants must meet a minimum monthly spend on fulfillment and kitting activities. These fulfillment minimums ensure that operational capacity is used efficiently while providing new merchants a generous grace period to grow their order volume. Understanding what counts toward your minimum and when it applies helps you plan your fulfillment strategy effectively.
</div>

## What Are Fulfillment Minimums?

Fulfillment minimums are monthly spending thresholds that merchants must meet to continue using Jetpack's fulfillment services. These minimums apply only to certain types of fulfillment activities—not all services you purchase count toward the minimum.

**What counts toward your fulfillment minimum:**

* **B2C fulfillment fees** - Direct-to-consumer order fulfillment charges
* **B2B fulfillment fees** - Business-to-business order fulfillment charges
* **Pick fees** - Per-unit or per-case pick charges
* **Kitting fees** - Product bundle assembly charges

**What does NOT count toward your fulfillment minimum:**

* **Storage fees** - Bin, shelf, and pallet storage charges
* **Receiving fees** - WRO processing and inbound receiving costs
* **Extra services** - Returns processing, carrier surcharges, dangerous goods fees, etc.
* **Other miscellaneous fees** - Any costs outside direct fulfillment and kitting activities

<Info>
  **The Key Principle**: Only charges directly related to picking, packing, and shipping orders (fulfillment) or assembling product bundles (kitting) count toward your monthly minimum.

## Regional Fulfillment Minimums

Fulfillment minimums are negotiated at the time of onboarding, and are in place to ensure the rates you have negotiated stay in place. We place set this minimum well below your projected spend as a way of protecting our agreement.

## The 90-Day Grace Period

All new merchants receive a **90-day grace period** following the first full calendar month after inventory arrives at a Jetpack fulfillment center. During this period, fulfillment minimums do not apply.

**How the grace period works:**

<Steps>
  <Step title="Inventory arrives">
    Your first shipment of inventory arrives at a Jetpack fulfillment center and is received
  </Step>

  <Step title="First full calendar month">
    The grace period begins after the first full calendar month following inventory arrival

    **Example**: If inventory arrives on March 15th, your first full calendar month is April. The 90-day grace period starts on May 1st.
  </Step>

  <Step title="90-day grace period">
    For the next 90 days, no fulfillment minimum applies—you can fulfill as many or as few orders as needed without penalty
  </Step>

  <Step title="Minimums take effect">
    After the grace period ends, you must meet the regional monthly fulfillment minimum
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  **New Merchant Benefit**: The 90-day grace period gives you three full months to scale your operations, test fulfillment processes, and build order volume before minimums apply.
</Tip>

## Meeting Your Fulfillment Minimum

Once your grace period ends, you must meet your regional fulfillment minimum each month. Understanding how charges accumulate helps you track your progress toward the minimum.

### Tracking Your Spend

Your fulfillment and kitting charges accumulate throughout the month. Use your invoices to track spending:

* **Weekly invoices** - Review the XLS detail file to identify fulfillment and kitting charges
* **Filter by charge type** - Focus on B2C fees, B2B fees, pick fees, and kitting fees
* **Running total** - Keep a running tally to ensure you'll meet the minimum by month-end

### If You Don't Meet the Minimum

If your monthly fulfillment and kitting charges don't meet the regional minimum, you'll be billed the difference to reach the minimum threshold.

**Example (US fulfillment center):**

* Regional minimum: USD \$10,000
* Your fulfillment + kitting charges for the month: USD \$9,000
* Minimum fee charged: USD \$1,000 (the difference)
* Total billed: USD \$10,000

<Warning>
  **Plan Ahead**: If you anticipate low order volume in a given month, factor the minimum fee into your budget. The minimum ensures you maintain access to Jetpack's fulfillment infrastructure even during slower periods. A reminder that because your minimum is set well below your historical spend, we rarely see this come into play.

If you're consistently struggling to meet fulfillment minimums, we'll proactively reach out to you to discuss an alternative rate card that suits your real-world average volumes. We hate the idea of making things complicated and will always do our best to work with you in these rare scenarios.
